Event Report by Chris Farmer
On what started as a damp Saturday a group of 4 cougars made their way out to Duvall, WA for the 2nd Annual Big Rock Classic Car Show. Although the weather started out damp it quickly dried out and remained kind of a hazy day in the high 60’s. The caravan consisted of Neal Jacobson in his 70 XR-7, Dave Nashif in his 69 XR-7 convertible, Lee Windh in his 68 XR-7 and last but not least your trusty communications director with his daughter Ashlyn along for the ride in my 68 standard. In addition the show director Randy Jones had his 67 XR-7 there to bring the cougar count to 5. We arrived a little later than we should which kind of got us placed out in the back forty so to speak. This actually turned out to be a blessing as we ended up getting to part right beside the Big Rock that gives this show its name. This made for some great photo opportunities as it turned out, and also allowed us to stretch out a little more than we might otherwise have been able to. Many great cougar stories were swapped and as usual lots of wonderful cars were there for our viewing pleasure. Randy Jones put on a great show and I encourage more of you that do not choose to make the trip to Hillsboro, OR to make the trip to Big Rock next year. Many thanks to Randy for taking good care of us and here is hoping to see more of you out there at this show as well as others. |
