Event Report by Chris Farmer

It’s hard to believe but another Prowl has come and gone.  Seems like the last few have had weather that has gone more to extremes than in the past.  2007 and 2008 brought mostly rain, and this year Mother Nature decided to throw us a curve and bring extreme heat.  This year we got sun and 90+ degrees.  Oh the good ole days of 75 and sunny LOL.

Attendance this year was virtually the same as last year.  We had a total of 71 cars, 36 Cougars and 35 Ford, Mercury, Lincoln and Edsels.  I was a little surprised that our attendance did not jump a good 10% with the good weather.  For those of you that did not attend it was a wonderful day and you really missed out.

This year the hard luck award was given to Jim Compton.  Saturday on his way over Snoqualmie pass he had a rear tire blow that sent him into a spin.  There was extensive damage to the car, but thankfully there was no damage to Jim or to anyone else.

The long distance award went to Colleen Flowers.  Colleen drove her red 1974 Maverick from Idaho for the event.  Best of Show Cougar honors went to Roman Benoit in his Calypso Coral 68 Standard.  And Best of Show Non-Cougar went to Allen & Annette Deplares in their 58 Edsel.

One moment of interest occurred when 3 Issaquah Police cars showed up on XXX Root Beer grounds.  Turns out someone left their dog closed in a car in the sun and enough people expressed concern that the police were called.  After many pages for the dog’s owner to come forward the police finally broke into the car and retrieved the warm and thirsty dog from the sweat box and order was restored.

As with last year there were many beautiful cars and wonderful people.  A special thanks goes out to the Fordnutz Car Club out of British Columbia for their continued support and participation in Prowl.  Also huge thanks to all the volunteers that help the day of the show.  And of course my compliments to Neal Jacobson for organizing another great Prowl!!

Shade felt pretty good by this time, we were blessed by good weather, nice cars, and great friends.

I am looking forward to another sunny day and seeing more of you on July 25,2010.  Start planning now to attend, it will be a great show!!
