Sunday July 31, 2005, Cascade Cougar Club Hosted the 20th annual Cougar Prowl at the XXX Root Beer Drive-in located in Issaquah, Washington. "Team Prowl" presented an event focused on the Mercury Cougar and honoring the traditions of Prowl past, present, and future.

.

We had a great turnout of Cougars, with the official count adding up to 55. Additional examples of "Dearborn's Finest" raised the total car count to an even one hundred. The show site blended the car show and cruise-in themes well. Our weather was sunny and, most importantly, we had a collection of terrific cars and great people cemented together by a fun event.

.
The folks at Issaquah's XXX Root Beer Drive-In are old hands at the car show biz and made "Team Prowl" feel right at home with such amenitities as hot coffee for the set-up team the morning of the show.

Special attention was given to our younger Cougar owners this year. Prowl 2005's Young Adult class contained three fine looking Cougars representing the 1967, 1968, and 1970, model years.

The award ceremony began with a cavalcade of show cars driving up to receive their awards. Lead Cougar was the "Best of Show" nicely modified 1969 Cougar Convertible driven by Eric and Judy Anders. All cars and owners entered in the Young Adult class drove up to receive their awards with recognition and applause by all the guests of Prowl 2005.

Interestingly, we had to split the US long distance award between Robin Jaques from the Carolina Cougar Club, and Virginia Alvarez a former member of the NJ/PA Cougar Club (now a Cascade C/C member and new resident of Gig Harbor). Nice having some friends from the East Coast attending our CCOA regional event.

The Canadian Long Distance trophy went to Alex Bronevitch from the Fordnutz club in B.C. Fortunately, Alex was present so Scott Ferguson didn't have to decide if his parking spot was located farther away from the show site than Heather Whittaker's. Didn't matter, we were going to give it to Heather regardless of what Scott had to say.

Representing our national club, Scott Ferguson, CCOA Chairman of the Board, gave a very nice speech regarding the past, present and future of the CCOA. With a few people looking at their watches, Scott was under a lot of pressure to keep it short, informative and, of course, entertaining. Job well done!

With a hundred cars in attendence and a great group of Blue Oval and Cougar enthusiasts on hand, along with the help of our accommodating hosts at XXX Root Beer Drive-in, the 20th edition of the Cascade Cougar Club Prowl was a show to remember. Thanks to everyone who helped make Prowl 2005 a successful and fun event.
